In India, a think-tank study found that Rajasthan could save up to $886 million in 2030 power procurement costs by substituting a proposed 3,200 MW of new coal capacity with renewables-plus-storage, a pathway the analysis finds would also cut state power-sector CO₂ emissions by 24% and generate 27,000 jobs against 2,560 under new coal.
